Congratulations to Shanice, Maggie, Sunset, Selena, Adin and Hassan who were selected in the SAPSASA District Hockey teams. They are playing in a week long carnival in Adelaide. We wish them an enjoyable week.
SAPSASA KNOCKOUT GIRLS SOCCER
The girls played their third round Soccer match on Friday 17th June at Seaford versus All Saints Catholic School. Thank you to Jamie for coaching and practicing the girls and to Kelli, Stacey, Cindy, Sue and Tyann for driving and supporting the girls on the day. We also had a lot of supporters cheering us on, which was great. Thank you.
The girls tried very hard and persisted right through the match, but unfortunately were not able to score a goal. We were beaten by a very experienced team. The girls enjoyed themselves though and learnt a lot about Soccer. This means we have been “knocked out” of the tournament. Well done girls, you did us proud.
SAPSASA KNOCKOUT FOOTBALL
The boys played their next round Football match on Friday 10th June at Tatachilla School versus Tatachilla.
Thank you to Fraser and Brett for coaching and driving the boys and to Peta, Louise and Leann for driving and helping on the day. Thank you to the parents who also supported us.
We fought hard in defence and applied many hard tackles, but unfortunately we weren’t able to reward our hard work on the scoreboard. We were beaten 8 goal 6 points to 3 goal 4 points.
Once again I was very proud of the boys’ hard work and sportsmanship. They did PEPS proud. This means we are “knocked out” of the carnival and have no more school SAPSASA football for this year.
SAPSASA DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY
Congratulations to Poppy, Brandon and Jamie for participating in the SAPSASA District Cross Country Team at Oakbank on June 9th. It was a very wet and muddy day but by all accounts they enjoyed the experience.
SAPSASA NETBALL AND FOOTBALL CARNIVAL Wednesday June 1st 2016
We entered a boys’ Year 6/7 football team and 2 girls’ netball teams in this year’s carnival. Thank you to Fraser and Brett for coaching the boys and to Jodie, Vicki, Sarah and Karen for coaching and umpiring the netball. All players gave 100% effort and appeared to have a great day.
SAPSASA KNOCKOUT GIRLS SOCCER and BOYS SOCCER
Our first game was played against Willunga Primary School at the local town oval on Friday 27th May.
Thank you to Josh and the local Soccer Club (Breakers) for setting up and letting us use their facilities. We greatly appreciate this local support. Thanks to Josh for coaching and practicing the boys’ team, to Jamie for assisting me coach the girls’ team, to Amanda for her assistance throughout the day with various arduous tasks, to Joel for being the referee for both games and to Daniel and Liam for being our lines referees. Without all of this support SAPSASA events could not occur. So thank you very much, the students and I greatly appreciate it.
The girls played first and were too tight in defence and too quick and accurate in offence for the opposition. They won 5 -1. So the girls advance into the next round. Time, date and opposition are yet to be set. Once I have further information I will let the girls know. Practices are occurring at a designated lunch break.
The boys’ team played next and quickly raced to a 2-0 lead. But unfortunately the second half saw the opposition kicking 4 goals to our zero. So we ended up being beaten, which means the boys have been “knocked out” of the competition. Bad luck boys. Great effort by all.
Auskick
Auskick is being run by Goolwa Port Elliot Football Club at Goolwa Oval from 10-11am on Sunday mornings. To register log onto Auskick.com.au
SAPSASA KNOCKOUT NETBALL and FOOTBALL
Our first game was played against Encounter Lutheran School here at PEPS on Friday 20th May. We played fantastic team games resulting in both teams winning the first round. The boys’ football score was 17 goals, 13 behinds (115pts) to 1 goal (6 points). The girls’ netball score was 22 goals to 8 goals.
Thanks again to coaches Fraser and Jodie, to umpire Karina, to Brett for goal umpiring, to Troy, Clara and Abbi for scoring and timekeeping, to Brett, Vicki and helpers for setting up the oval, etc. Without your help and volunteering these days and events could not occur. It was also great to see so many spectators and supporters there too.
Well done to everyone involved. I am in the process of organising the next round game. Students are practicing at break times. More information will be sent home to players once known.
