Welcome to Port Elliot Primary School

History Of Port Elliot Primary School

Port Elliot Primary School has served the south eastern Fleurieu Peninsula since 1853. We have a strong community focus - parents and caregivers play an active role within the school, through classroom support, library and sporting programs.

In 2007, the school and co-located kindergarten moved to a new site adjacent the Port Elliot Showgrounds. The school enjoys joint use of the showground's oval. Enrolments at the school, which caters from Reception-Year 7, have nearly tripled since 1991, in-line with a general growth of activity in the local area.

Port Elliot Primary School Catchment Area.

As of January 1st 2018 Port Elliot Primary School is implementing a catchment area. Students who live with this catchment will be given first priority to enrolling at Port Elliot Primary School. Please click on the link to see if your current address is within this catchment  area before making an appointment for an enrolment meeting.

Please note that this is the same catchment used by preschools on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Port Elliot Primary School continues to be a school which strives for excellence through the school values of Community, Confidence and Respect. Over the last 5 years the Community component of these values has grown significantly from an enrolment in 2013 of 280 student to now in excess of 410.  As the Principal of the school I have been meeting with the Department for Education including demographers about the schools predicted future growth in enrolment.  The decision has been made that Port Elliot Primary School will enrol future students only from the following areas:

  • Port Elliot

  • Hayborough

  • Middleton

The exception being the siblings of students who already attend Port Elliot Primary School.

If you live within these areas and have a Reception student for 2019 Deputy Principal Les Cameron will provide information to the Port Elliot Kindergarten so families book a pre-enrolment meeting during late Term 3.

If you have any questions please contact your local school principal to seek clarification to be assured of a place in 2019.
